My synopsis:

The Doctor is evolving but we know that he will turn out good in the end, though the tunnel he goes through may be dark and treacherous, and it will he will die to remain the same Time Lord he has always been. I can see your points though I'm not in agreement with all of them. And that what makes this fandom so pleasant at times. Perhaps, Missy is Clara's Valeyard. Her dark side. She's Clara's last 'sacrifice' to save the Doctor from his worse enemy: himself (or his Valeyard). Instead of being focused on being the last Time Lord; the Doctor is focusing on being a Time Lord now. Though most of us think that Clara has a right to be angry: some of us see as you get what you ask for though most of the time it doesn't turn out how you asked for it. I think someone on Facebook made the perfect point and I paraphrase here: 'Clara has been like a child in the series up until this point. And like any parent does, the Doctor, gives her a taste of what it's like to be him (responsible for something very important). And like a spoiled brat, Clara doesn't like it (the responsibility) and throws a fit about it.' That's my opinion as well. The Doctor has gone on to be something more than someone to have a fun ride with now (the way Clara thinks it should be) and has started heading towards doing his job as a Time Lord (the way things should be).

I have always likened Time in the Doctor Who universe as a stream or a creek; flowing endlessly. Occasionally, someone or something rolls a boulder into the river which diverts the stream or creek. The size of this 'interruption' can be small to so large it alters it's course dramatically. The Time Lords (CIA) are ones to intervene on the small obstructions; whereas the Doctor takes on the boulders. Needless to say the creek or stream still flows around and over the these obstructions but they affect things they shouldn't so that's when the Time Lords and the Doctor can intervene. Things are fixed points are things that will not change no matter how many times someone throws in a boulder in the path; they will find a way to go on anyway but with possibly more devastating results affecting more people than intended. You can lock Hitler in a closet but no matter how you try; you won't be able to kill him because no matter what he'll always commit suicide with his wife at end of the war.

Clara's end in this episode worse than Tegan's? I don't think so. Clara's departure in this episode didn't seem to take a piece of his soul with her like Tegan did. So yeah, Tegan's departure is still more poignant to me.

Loved Courtney though.

The science is laughable. The only entertaining thing in the serial really.
