So, I've been notice these remix things on the teaspoon. Actually, I noticed them last year (actually, it was the year before that), and I went on a massive internet search to try to find where people gather to divy these things up, becauase I think it's a very interesting idea.

Long story short; I only managed to find last year's remix community, and so I figured it wasn't on. So I stopped looking. Then all of these remixes popped up on the 'spoon again.

So yes, request, next year, when these this thing is being organized, can someone please point me in the right direction for sign-ups? Because this will be my third time missing the boat, and I really am quite intrigued.

What is this remix thing? I have to admit I've never heard of it or noticed it. Care to explain further? Is it simiilar to a RF or a round-robin? Or something new?

Far as I can tell, the idea is that you sign up and are then randomly given an author. You then have to rewrite a story by that author, putting a different spin on it by changing the theme, the perspective, the execution (making it into a poem for example, or dividing its time line and rewriting it backwords)

But you have to keep the general story arc and the ideas that cement it.

Anyways, there's simply scads of them up on the Teaspoon at the moment. You can tell because they're the ones with (the blankity, blanky remix) positioned next to the title in brackets.

It looks like great fun, and having missed it again, I feel rather left out.

Interesting idea. From how you described it, it seems quite a challenging activity.

When you say author, you mean someone online... not a professional published author, right?

Well, it is a fic-a-thon for fix remixing, so online authors, yeah. I think the most interesting bit is that you don't know who's story you're going to have to rewrite; you don't get to choose. It's all random.
