At the risk of sounding like a druggie peddling DreamWidth invite codes. I've got five of them. I'm still not sure if I'm actually moving over there because moving journals is a pain, but it's looking like there might be a mass migration coming up.

Well, that's all of them. I'm still not sure if I'm running over there because, after poking around a bit, I think I like LJ's infrastructure better and the ticky-box-begone work around seems to works reasonably well. At the same time... it's good to have a back up den if the ship starts going down.

It *always* looks like a mass migration, and then the fuss dies down and the migration never happens. (It's been six years; I've seen this too many times.) The community infrastructure doesn't exist at DW, and until/unless it does, LJ's going to continue to reign supreme even when it does stupid stuff. That doesn't mean they shouldn't learn from their mistakes (and to be fair, while LJ is far from perfect in that arena, they're a helluva lot better than Facebook is!), but they're not going to lose the userbase until there's a real sea change at DW.

(And to be perfectly honest, I think DW's policies on copyright are going to get them into some serious legal trouble at some point, so I wouldn't ever want to make a permanent move to their site.)
