clocketpatch: A small, innocent-looking red alarm clock, stuck forever at 10 to 7. (Avon)

30 Days Meme, Day 12: Scene(s) that made your heartbreak?

This happened virtually every other episode, especially towards the end of the series when everything bad that could possibly happen just kept on happening in relentless succession. Here's a photo essay about all of the saddest scenes. Fair warning, this contains lots of spoilers, sobs, and Avon. Because of course it does.

bount262
Bounty: "Get on with it."

Up to this point in the series, I'd enjoyed Avon's quips and silly outfits, but I wasn't completely sold on the character. But this moment in Bounty sold me, because it is the first time (and one of the only times) you see Avon completely without pretense, and even though I think it's supposed to be funny, I find it really sad.

press168
Pressure Point: That ending

I had no idea this was coming. Plus, I'm one of those people who actually likes Gan, so this was just awful.

count139
Countdown: "You're lying."

rumrs005
Rumours: "Is that how long I've been here?"

This whole arc is just the saddest thing (and while the main arc is between these two episodes, I count most of the rest of the sad moments as being directly tied to it)

term177
Terminal: ""I have failed you."

*sobs*

orbit201
Orbit: ""Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."

This is made even worse because I was just looking at #1, and they were that close once. Series 4, why do you have to break all of the beautiful  things?

blake170
Blake:
"My emergency power cells are virtually exhausted, I'm afraid."

The spaceships get me every time

Oh, that's it, I clearly need to watch Bounty again. I do not remember this at all AND THAT IS JUST WRONG.

My feelings about Gan are "meh" but I thought it was such a sad end. He deserved better (both the actor with the character and the character because POOR GAN DAMMIT.) And then Vila is so sad in the next episode.

Zen's death never fails to make me cry. It's just awful. Poor, poor Zen.

ORBIT OH IN THE HEART RIGHT IN THE HEART.

And the end. :( :( :(

Yes, Zen, and Orbit, and all of Blake, especially Slave (it's the moment where he uses Tarrant's name, where he's never done that before - it's always "sir" and things - that gets me) and the ending.

Oh god, the ships are the most heartbreaking deaths, somehow. Like you say, that right there at the end they suddenly seem SO "human" and real, it shatters me.

"Blake" is terrible, but "Orbit" breaks my heart so much more in some ways--it's so creepy and sad and wrong...
