random late night fanart
DbyA friends have probably already seen this madness.
I'm not usually one for drawing fanart... well, aside from that picture of Three and those random Legolass portraits I did and lost years ago...
anyway, last night I was bored and felt the random urge to doodle, so, um, yeah. I didn't have any references while drawing so it turned into a kind of memory cartoon-y thing.
And then tonight I felt the random urge to scan the things and try to colour them. Anyway, 'nough said:
The random sketch
My first attempt at colouring it
My second attempt, which, thanks to some kind of glitch (no honest, the paint program did something WEIRD) makes me look far more talented than I actually am. Heh. I like how this turned out. Ten's mouth went a bit wonky and lost its expression and there's something odd going on with his left arm; but still, very happy with it.

The last one is quite nice, the coloring is very good.

The paint shop really did throw me a curve ball that helped with that colouring: I went to reduce alpha to zero to make the layer transparent, and instead of doing what it was supposed to it gave me all these lovely brown specks jut where brown specks needed to be! All I had to do was use the smudge tool a bit and voila!

I've just remembered what this reminds me of; it's not a famous artwork, but even cooler. A few years ago - like, literally years ago - during some international football tournament (possibly the 2002 World Cup), there was an advert on telly here in the UK for, I think, Coca-Cola, which featured weird little mutated caricatures of the then-stars of English football... That's what this reminds me of; and I sincerely mean that as a great compliment, even if it doesn't sound like one. :D
Also makes me want to do online fanart in pathetic imitation of you...I did a great little doodle of Morbius on the back of my notepad when I was "busy" in work the other day...I'll have to see about getting that scanner working...

Is your Morbius of the crab claws and dome-headed sponge variety, or is this actual, in the flesh Morbius? I'd be interested to see it in either case. The funny thing about computers is they have tendency to make even the most mundane of doodles look like high art!

I go through phases regarding doodling; transparent cubes are always a firm favourite though. Don't ask my why.

I need to get your advice on it sometime.
Fabulous btw! :D
