(though I did convince a friend to watch up to Cygnus Alpha, she has informed me that I am a horrible person for stealing those hours of her life, so... probably not successful, even if she did like Avon).
I had a friend fall madly in love with it, watch all of series 1 over a week...and then find out about the ending, freak out, refuse to watch anymore, and berate me for letting her start to watch it. :( I've been more careful about my proselytising since then...
