A New Being
Right, so my attempts at posting this on lj and the teaspoon both led to utterly borked formatting. AO3 sort of borked it, but it didn't make it utterly unreadable so -
Title: A New Being
Word Count: 8337
Characters: Eleven, Clara, Clara's father, the Maitland family
Summary: Christmas! With the Doctor and Clara and Clara's family, and the Maitland family, and isn't it a happy joyous occasion? Except for the freak weather, the mysterious power bumps, and the suspicious Christmas presents. Oh... and the Doctor is acting weird...
--
I wanted to have a go at the Christmas episode before it actually aired, so I challenged myself to write a script up for it. Since it started coming together remarkably fast once the outline was down, I challenged myself further to see if I could finish it in a week. Because I am insane.
It's about 43 pages in Word when properly formatted, so I reckon it would run episode length (and oh, but I am peeved about the formatting getting borked after working so hard on making it all professional like, but apparently HTML and white space hate each other, so). I've got no illusions that it would actually be a good episode (it's got loads of gratuitous flashbacks and angst and references to past stories), but I'm fairly certain it makes more sense than... The End of Time, say? so, there's that.
This is also fulfilling the family square on my
hc_bingo card.
Standard Disclaimer: Doctor Who and its characters belong to the BBC and associated copy-right holders. I am making no profit and am just doing this as a writing exercise and for a bit of fun
Disclaimer Two: I actually really like The End of Time. It's a crazy rollicking romp of random. It just doesn't make much sense.
