Day 18: Best Series Opener

Aftermath, by a mile. Because, The Way Back is very good, but it's really more of a prequel than an opener. The majority of the characters aren't introduced and it has a very different feel to everything else. If The Way Back were to be combined with Space Fall in a movie then, yes, that would be the best  opener (and I think that there is a fan edit of this somewhere?), but I didn't see it like that, so Aftermath. Because Redemption and Rescue aren't awful, but they aren't anywhere near good either.

Day 19: Best Series finale

This one's harder, but I'm going to go for the series 3 option again, because that was the one I wasn't spoiled for and it was one of the most devastating finales I've ever seen.

I don't know if there's a fan edit, but there was a VHS release that combined the first four episodes, only they left out too many of the wrong things (like Blake, Jenna and Vila's first meeting) and I know this, because this was how I started watching B7 - it cost me 50p from a charity shop. :-)

I think I'd always come down on Blake for finale, but Star One, Terminal and Blake are all really good in different ways, so it's tough.

Oh, I do love Aftermath. It's so very exciting and contains Dayna having an awesome introduction and Servalan being most excellent and sent me happily off on my Avon/Servalan ship (actually, I was already there but it was so nice for it to become canon of a sort!)

Terminal. Oh Terminal. It is quite heart-breaking - not the same gut-punch Blake but totally shattering (and I always cry at Zen's death. It's just NOT RIGHT. :(
