I've nomed 19th Century Paleontologist RPF (mostly I want fic about The Bone Wars and all its ridiculousness)
The novel City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett (It was a last minute addition. There were about three other things jostling for this spot, and then I read this book and knew that I wanted it more than any of them)
And this fantastically beautiful and dramatic series of Japanese Pepsi commericials. I've only been able to find sub-titles for the first one, but my friend who speaks the language gave me a hilarious running narrative of the other two ("this is the kingdom of birds, here are Crow and Pheasant. The text says they're brothers, but obviously that's a lie and this is their wedding. You trust me more than the Japanese sub-titles you can't read, right? Now Crow is going to dance until he turns into a demon, and Pheasant will angst dance, and then they'll have a dance-off to express their mutual love and save each other's souls") which seemed fairly accurate given what was going on.
