It is very interesting when compared with last series which was thematically a bit all over the place. Especially since the more I look at it the more things stand out (like how the Magician's Apprentice and Face the Raven both see the Doctor willingly entering what he knows to be a trap for the sake of a child). And it's a lot of very strong questions and I guess what I find interesting is that usually it's only one side of that question being presented at a time (like last season where love always wins, or in things like Game of Thrones where things are opposite) and it's very refreshing to see both sides presented equally.
Because, one thing I forgot in my tired writing was that saving Ashildr might have had terrible consequences... but as far as I can tell savong Rigsy (twice!) has had only good ones.
