Nope, you didn't imagine it and I think you described it perfectly. He's trying to eat the microphone - or do some kind of sexy growl and failing hilariously - I'm not really sure. It had me in tears of laughter for the duration of my night shift though, so that can only be a good thing. The other characters + plot are okay too.
