As I continue not to sleep, I wanted to take this time to ask a question that has been bugging me for some time: does Matt Smith not bear an uncanny resemblance to a young Martin Clunes? Because one of my first thoughts on seeing him... after the requisit "The HAIR! the HAIR" and the "face!palm, well... THIS should appeal to Twilight fans; a vampire in the TARDIS" was "My, doesn't he look like that really effeminant dude from Snake Dance?"

I've got a nice little picture hidden below the cut (for those friends of mine who are bravely avoiding spoilers, somehow) that, thanks to the marvels of paint, shows Clunes and Smith together. On a final note, I heard somewhere that Clunes was actually short-listed to BE 11 at some point, but something fell through last minute. I don't know the truth of that story, but... O.o

oh, and no offense meant to Matt Smith. I look forward to seeing how he interprets the role. Even if he is practically the same age as me and, therefore, WAY too young to be the Doctor. *nods sagely* I'm still just slightly peeved that Richard E. Grant who wasn't going to get the role, didn't get the role, and alas, my fantasy dream castings were smashed to pieces.

Hmmm...I suppose they both do look like they've just been smacked in the mouth with a prize salmon... Clunes, at any rate, has a noticeable and fully functioning set of eyebrows. :) In that one on the right, bizarrely, he looks kind of like the psycho-schoolboy in Human Nature/Family of Blood, but I suspect that might just be the hairdo and the expression of upper-class superiority.

The Clunes-as-11 story was in some dodgy, dodgy British tabloid, iirc, like the Sun or the Daily Star, and therefore should probably be taken with salt to taste.

Heh. I was smiling at your pic, before [livejournal.com profile] jjpor#s comment made me snigger. And I think just about every actor under the sun has (apparently) been in the running according to certain tabloids. No actual foundation of fact is ever needed!!

Interesting one. Is it cruel of me to say if DW was made by ITV it would be true?? Gruff Time Lord is softened by female human... Oh, wait... (Hmm *thinks* jokes about ITV not in the best of taste at this present moment. The world is rocking under our feet. 8-o)

You may just have made me laugh more in less words than anyone has ever done before. The official history of Doctor Who.

(And it's not the plot of everything, except on ITV. Oh, did it again. Sorry. Yes, it's the plot of everything. Except Spooks in which you can't trust anyone and everyone dies.)

"Ten: "Rose is gone..."
Martha: ...?
Ten: "You're not Rose"
Donna: ...?
Ten: "You're not Rose ei..."
Donna: *SMACK!*"

That's how it _should_ have ended! XD

*giggling madly*

(Hello... I'm in your archives reading through them. This occasionally happens when I get bored. I did it to Primsong a while back and left comments all over the place.)
