Fandom Stocking 2014
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
(Sorry about the posts so close together. I'm back home again and have time to catch up on things! And there are so many things...)
Fandom_Stocking was brilliant this year! Of course, it's always brilliant, but this year it was especially so.
ETA: Argh, ALL of the code is broked and my attempts at deleting and re-writing aren't doing anything to get rid of all of the random characters. I apologize. It will be fixed(ish) tomorrow but right now I am far too tired to deal with this.
I received many recipes! Vegetarian lasagna from roeskva, yummy looking pasta recipe (plus an adorable kitten photo) from sjh2009, two recipes from
eve11; crispy tri-colour potatoes and Spinach with Roasted beets and sweet potatoes in plum viniagrette, and a whole pile of delicious looking things to try from Bonnefois.
Lots of inspiring photos! from Bonnefois, Green_Wing, and Leesa_Perrie .
liadtbunny wrote a Kaldor City fic with Carnell/Iago (Aka, Carnell/Mr. I swear I'm not Avon... No, Really... Why does no one believe me?) and this was awesome because Kaldor City fic. The meta implications along are amazing.
sarajayechan wrote a lovely Toph & Zuko Avatar fic. I watched Avatar for the first time this summer and really enjoyed it, but didn't end up pursueing the fandom in any meaningful way so this is the first fic I've read for these characters. It was really great and has inspired me to go look for more of the similar.
seiya234 wrote a completely brilliant Seven& Ace fic, Driving Lessons, which has Seven acting like the most adorable awkward and concerned parent as he teaches Ace how to actually drive post-Remembrance.
A Frobisher and Jackie short story, Keep Mum, from
john_elliott. I'm terribly amused by the punning in the title.
Tarlanx made three Avon icons. I'm especially enamoured with the first one because of the background + expression.
A Master fanmix from
juniperphoenix (I love fanmixes so much. Have I ever mentioned that? I think that they are the most brilliant thing and am terrible at making them myself so I was super delighted to find one in my stocking)
eve11 also did a pod fic of my story Looking Beyond (which, incidentally, was written for fandom_stocking as a gift for lost_spook last year.) Her Seven and Ace impressions are amazing.
kaffyr wrote Demeter Walks, an excellent Jackie fic, which I need to read at least three more times because the Jackie voice was some of the best I've ever read and there were just layers and layers of things going on. Summary: I walk a lot these days. And I owe it to Rose and himself. Jackie Tyler talks about love, loss and learning.
A long, plotty, and utterly brilliant Blake's 7 fic from
swordznsorcery called Dust Moon. It has Dayna/Tarrant, Avon and Cally amiably bickering, Avon being wonderfully snarky and awful at being stealthy, Tarrant being silly and dashing, Dayna being an excellent fighter and maker of bombs, Cally being so much more stealthy than Avon, and a thing that happens towards the end which is one of my absolute favourite things that can ever happen in a fic or TV show and I literally punched the air with glee when it occured because yes.
lost_spook directed me to a pair of icon posts she made several years back full of lovely Blake's 7 quote icons
Finally, there were seasonal greetings from twinsarein, green_wing, wendymypooh and others, as well as a great vid rec from fuzzyboo, and a free drabble card from sharpest_asp.
I'm a little overwhealmed by how much there was. I've already said thank you, but thank you again to everyone because these things are all beautiful and the reveals came at a time this year when the boost was greatly needed.

I confess I don't use my DW account, but I'd always assumed one had to use the whole of the DW account URL? Perhaps someone who crossposts could tell you?
Meanwhile, sleep well.

Fandom Stocking was fun, yes! :-D

I... am not completely certain how to do that either. My ignorance at all things computers is astounding sometimes...
Anyway, it looks passably better now.
It was loads of fun!

And there are such pretties to unwrap at the end.
