30 Days, Day 5: Most Romantic Moment?

I've got three of these:



The sexiest moment (which isn't actually all that romantic)



This moment in Rumours. Though nearly all of Avon and Servalan's interactions from Aftermath onward would probably qualify.


The most romantic moment for my OTP



It's all of Games really, but especially these two bits of dialogue which I like to take out of context in order to support my insane Avon/Orac shipping:

ORAC	The total effect is a system which responds in what I can only describe as an eccentric manner.
SOOLIN	What does that mean?
ORAC	A computer must, by definition, be logical. But it can also mirror the logic of its creator.
SOOLIN	You mean it's an extension of his mind.
ORAC	No, that is NOT what I mean.
SOOLIN	His personality, then.
ORAC	A better definition, but still not quite accurate.

and then, later on:

AVON	Let's forget your ego for the moment. Have you extracted any information that could be of use to us yet?
ORAC	Gambit has evolved into its present form over a period of years.
AVON	Well, that's true of all computers. You adapt them, you improve them.
ORAC	But these adaptations seem entirely haphazard. Some circuits have been added purely for amusement, others, the defence mechanisms for instance, are surprisingly complex.
AVON	But they all perform the same function. Belkov does not trust anyone except that machine. It is his bodyguard, his companion, his playmate... his friend, Orac.
ORAC	Oh! That implies an emotional tie, which is no part of a computer's function.

The actual most romantic moment

Every time Dayna and Tarrant are adorable at each other, but especially the whole bit where they're on the spiral staircase in Rescue (which, incidentally, I can't find a good picture of, so here's another random shot from the same eppy)



I also quite like this bit from Power where Tarrant is cheering Dayna on from the sidelines. It is one of only two things I like in that entire episode. It is not enough to redeem the episode, but it is still pretty damn adorable:

Also also, while the bit on the spiral staircase is nice, for Tarrant/Dayna, I'd have to go for the aliens made them do it, because it's not only that, or the kiss, but Tarrant's look once he gets what Dayna's got in mind and then they count down to the, er, bang together...

lol, I thought about Sand but decided that it wasn't really romatic because of sex!sand... though, I also think that Orac secretly thinks these things quite a bit and probably did an extensive search of the Federation databases on poetry and love after the episode to try and figure out what he was thinking, before deciding that it was all to embarasing and never letting anyone know.

Ultraworld got dismissed for similar aliens-made-them-do-it circumstances... though it did flip the trope and the whole episode is full of great shots of them leaning up against each other in corridors. Its definitely one I've got to rewatch.

There is nothing insane about shipping Avon/Orac. Nothing at all. *she said, unbiasedly*

(incidently, I always feel faintly bad about those scenes in Games, mostly because I 100% forget they existed when I was writing the original draft of Little While, Long While. I found out pretty much right before I was going to post it and there wasn't really a way of slipping it in naturally at that point but I feel that there's a small gap left there, there's so much that could be done with it and I didn't have the moment.

I'll just have to write another Avon/Orac fic someday ...)

And yes, Servalan stroking Avon's face with that gun is intensely hot. Love it!

xD I am so happy that I have a fellow shipper (and Little While, Long While was EXCELLENT. You have no need to apologize for any of it. It's my favourite fic in the entire fandom.)

I'll just have to write another Avon/Orac fic someday ... I think I would faint from the happy.

And yes, Servalan stroking Avon's face with that gun is intensely hot. Love it! Again, glad I'm not the only one. I felt just sliiiightly pervy posting that, but oh hell, it's true.

I had forgotten the moment with Tarrant rooting for Dayna in Power! Thank you for that, it's nice to salvage just a little something from that one...
