1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

[personal profile] thisbluespirit  picked these for me:

Two's looking at you -

As a challenge to myself, I made a run of icons including each of the Doctors. This is one of the Two ones, and I quite like the shifty look he's got in it. Two is a lot like Seven in some ways I find; both have that cheerful, harmless clown thing going, but underneath there's this darker, somewhat bastardly edge that surfaces from time to time. I think I love them for it.

Miffed Giles -

This was created by[personal profile] blairprovence  so I can't take any credit. I''ve recently got into Buffy fandom after managing to grow up straight through the middle of Buffy mania without seeing a single episode, and I hadn't seen a single episode until December last year. Anyway, long story short, I think that I'm in love with Giles, and with Anthony Steward Head in general. Hence the icon. Which is a nice multi-purpose icon which works for both fannish situations, and irritate non-fannish situations. I'd have more icons of Giles, but Doctor Who is currently taking up all of my space. :)

Four -

This is another one from that run of Doctor icons I made, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out as well. The mood fog is nice. It was my first attempt at using layers to make a graphic in a long, long time. It's a combination of screen-caps from two favourite stories: Deadly Assassin and City of Death.

Don't show my parents the fanfic -

Don't! honestly! They'd be so confused... This started because I wanted an icon of Wilf, and then, well, some kind of icon-making crack!bunny wrassled me to the ground and this is the result.

The Brig sez we're in Norfolk -

This was created by fry_adict, and it made me laugh, and laugh, and laugh. And, of course, I *needed* a Brig icon so there you go.

Heh. Well, they're all very nice. And I love Giles, too. My librarian hero, you understand.

I was rewatching some yesterday and remembered why when, talking about being a shopkeeper: "I used to be a librarian for years. This is exactly the same, except people pay for the things they don't bring back." Nearly up there with my favourite (on pupils taking books out of the library): "I thought that was a myth."

Oh, absolutely. Like I said, Librarian Hero. :-D ("I'd prefer to be at home with a cup of Bovril and a good book!")

Of course, once Buffy finished, he came back to the UK and has turned up in everything playing as unlike-Giles characters as he can. I find it slightly disturbing. His Spooks episode was a point in case. (I must learn the art of disassociation...)

It's this one from S1, but if you read the synopsis here it will tell you every detail of the episode. And Spooks is so marvellous, just get the whole thing if you can (S1 is only 6 episodes) as the episode will be much better. (ASH's character is in Ep4 as main character Tom Quinn's first mentor and Tom finds his loyalties in question).

And you'll meet Harry Pearce. S1 may not have Ruth (who is lovely) but it does have Jenny Agutter being evil, Hugh Laurie as the MI6 equivalent of Harry ("It's nice to know someone's running the country when the rest of us are at the opera."), Keeley Hawes and Matthew McFadyen. And the most infamous death scene on British TV (ep2). And Malcolm. That bit where they hair-dry the cat (James Bond never does stuff like that.) Harry on when he told his wife he was a spy: "Just after we'd signed the register. I like to have these things in writing..."

Sorry. I love Spooks too much. Did it show? ;-)

It wasn't, as it happens - apparently it's a quote from Top Gear. I nabbed the icon as a nod to the strange "beards mean wisdom but also untrustworthiness" convention shortly after I grew mine.
