Aka the place of plagarism this will be reposted at.

While a complaint function is availlable on the website I recommend against using it except with a throwaway account since there is the possibility that this individual is collecting emails for resale. I would also recommend against browsing the site without a good ad block. I believe that most ads only give profit for click throughs, but some pay based on page views, and we're kind of shooting ourselves in the foot if we increase this guy's profit.

Granted, there is still the possibility that this individual is doing this not for profit, but out of a desire to archive all the fic on lj. Which is a noble cause, except they're doing it wrong.

I honestly don't think anything we do will make this person stop, but hopefully it serves as a fandom wake-up call to how unprivate the internet is. I also think that there are more serious things in the world to get worked up over. I'm not particualary bothered or surprised by this person. It is more fun than it ought to be spammng their scraping feed though. Play safe everyone.

Bless you. Always openminded and kind. I certainly hope it is just a wrongly launched tribute by someone who thought they were paying homage to fav writers. Awesome idea. Bad way to go about it.

But the info you give here is marvelous. Sage and wise advice. And true - there are better things to spend time on. After all, everything that is on the net can be considered 'in the public eye'. I'm not really surprised, but I wish the world was more courteous.

Have fun with the spammage *beams*

I saw that!! I was all O_o...and then 'so that makes two wrongs then, asshat, wtf!' At least with fanficcers we use disclaimers. And list who did what. This ass doesn't even have that courtesy. And then to call people out for the fic they are scraping?! Srsly? *facepalm* Think the real problem though isn't even the fiction anymore. They are grabbing personal posts. That is NOT on. And one commenter even said it is against LJ and WP TOS what they are doing. Hope they get yanked soon. This is horseshit.

Right?! Tis terrible, but I'm enjoying watching the fallout. Never thought I'd say that...

I just went back to check that my entries had been removed, and, woa, loads of complaints, and the owner is clearly a troll of some kind. Or else unbelievably naive and headed for a fall.

Apparently, given that it's masquerading as a WordPress blog, you can report web forgery through your browser. One of my flist just told me how to do it through Firefox here: http://lost-spook.livejournal.com/419496.html?thread=5871272#t5871272

Ah, thanks for the username - I did that. And I can see that their LJ has dodgy nude pictures on it, so we'll declare them a troll of some kind, whatever kind it be. From now on I'll be making cryptic tags, I think, because trolls are very rarely alone in their trollery.
