The Tragic Tale of Sad Bird the Sad Bird

Having never managed to actually finish a bingo on h/c bingo, I vowed that this time I would. Unfortunately, I've also been having some terrible writer's block. Wanting to do something while waiting for it to pass, I started messing around with some crayons and before I knew it an entire blackout bingo had formed.

Characters: Sad Bird, Happy Bird, Stoic Penguin, Angry Ground Squirrel
Warnings: Graphic violence, self harm, attempted suicide, minor character death, general unpleasantness, terrible crayon drawings

There is quite a bit of plot for this in my head, and I had thought about adding a bit of narration to each picture to confirm what was going on, but 1. writer's block, and 2. it's probably more interesting to let the birds speak for themselves and let all of you come up with your own interpretations of what's going on.

Wow, that's a mix of cute, funny and rightfully disturbing; I think it's amazing. And your crayon drawings work really well; there's such a clear sense of character in each one.

I am glad the penguins came through in the end and still kind of disturbed by the third to last. (I see what you mean now!!)

Well done - and a black out is so cool!

(I don't think I've said enough, but tehre's a lot here to come back to and chew over, and honestly I sat here and sort of laughed/felt disturbed in a good way all the way through.)

It's been taking over my life for a bit so it's nice to have it done and out, and also very nice that other people are enjoying it (even if it maybe does go a bit far in a few places). Even as I was drawing it I was being disturbed by how outrageously violent these woodland creatures were being. But I guess it all works out okay in the end?

I do worry about Happy Bird though. I hope the penguins are able to help him/her.

I don't think it goes too far; it's that mix that sort of makes it work so well, I think. As I said, it's really funny and cute and seriously disturbing and it's a great mix!

I'm sure the penguins will be just and fair and provide further counselling, so probably Happy Bird can get there in the end. Maybe? ;-)
