So, I've been notice these remix things on the teaspoon. Actually, I noticed them last year (actually, it was the year before that), and I went on a massive internet search to try to find where people gather to divy these things up, becauase I think it's a very interesting idea.

Long story short; I only managed to find last year's remix community, and so I figured it wasn't on. So I stopped looking. Then all of these remixes popped up on the 'spoon again.

So yes, request, next year, when these this thing is being organized, can someone please point me in the right direction for sign-ups? Because this will be my third time missing the boat, and I really am quite intrigued.

I just wrote out an explanation for AbbyRomana above. Don't worry. I'm always out of the loop on these events, and then, on the rare occasions when I d manage to get into the loop, life always ends up attacking and forcing me to bow out.

Ack, that was me. Do the authors volunteer their fics to be rewritten? Think I might take offense, if someone did without asking me.

Yes, you have to sign up and volunteer your fics, and like I said, I'm pretty sure you can designate fics that people aren't allowed to rewrite. It would be pretty sketchy otherwise; people rewriting fics without telling the original author first? Yikes! I'd be a bit peeved too.
