clocketpatch: A small, innocent-looking red alarm clock, stuck forever at 10 to 7. (Kitty stalk and capture!)
I feel like an absolute idiot. The highest class of idiot. I've been crying all day and feeling generally miserable, which I honestly deserve. But maybe something can be salvaged from this if I can information share and prevent this from happening to other people.

Please don't let this happen to your kitties )

Bottom line: get your pets fixed.

Also, please give good thoughts to Pebbles.
Here she is being a beauty queen three days ago )

Pebbles came home a few minutes ago. The plan had been to keep her in my room to prevent her from fighting with the other cats and give her a nice safe place to rest quietly... Her response was to tear out of my room at the soonest opportunity and run around the house like a mad thing making me go white thinking she was going to tear out her stitches. Then we did the whole: "you will take this pill it is good for you" "No-no-no-no I will not take this pill!" "Yes you will! Haha! Got it in! ...oh wait, you spit it out and covered it with your paw."

The vet showed us a picture of her uterus compared with a normal cat's. Holy shit. To give some perspective - she weighed nearly nine pounds going in and only seven pounds coming out. Apparently the infection was completely contained which was why it didn't show up on blood work and wasn't bothering her, but if her spay had been a few days later it could have ruptured and killed her. My mother, having seen the picture, is determined to get the other cat fixed while I'm gone.

Little miracle kitty is now sitting under her favourite chair glaring at me. Thanks for giving her good thoughts.
