I made some predictions. Let's revisit them, because I am procrastinating. Again.
The Doctor is summoned by the Ood. He sees the vision of the laughing Master and is all WTF? The Ood tell him (in a whisper so that the rest of us can't hear) the one way to solve the problem. Which involves death. The Doctor is all "I'mma getting outta here!!"
And runs away screaming.
Not quite screaming, but close enough. I kind of wish the Ood had told him. Because in WoM the Doctor was acting like he knew how he was going to die; 1. How was he predicting the Master? 2. Or did he think it was Wilf, and if so, whhhhyy??? Rusty, these things do not make sense. Neither do the Ood, because you never explained that.
He ends up on Earth. In front of Donna's house. Wilf runs out and is all "What are you doing materializing here?!?!?" But Donna is at work, so it's okay. They chat, Wilf mentions the book. The Doctor reads a few pages of said book and is all "This is NOT right"
I fail completely here.
Wilf then gets some kind of TARDIS trip. He and his geriatric friends will inevitably save the day and in doing so teach everyone the true meaning of Christmas.
The first part, yes. The second part... that would have been fun actually...
And I'm going to say the Master is resurrected around here. That is, if he hasn't all ready been resurrected in a pre credits sequence. He will be brought back using Lucy's DNA, the ring, and some random robotics. Naismith is either A. a rogue member of Torchwood B. a rogue alien or C. both.
He mentioned Torchwood, and aliens were involved?
He wants to to A. save his daughter from a fatal illness by stealing Time Lord regenerations B. Take over the world C. his daughter has psychic seen some kind of terrible future and the Master somehow figures in his deranged plan to stop it.
Rusty, look at my reasons, they are better than your creepy incest. Sorry. They just are. I think everyone who was incredibly squicked out by those two will agree with me. Y/Y ?
I think that he actually wants the Doctor and the Master is just the read substitute (or the bait)
This is a fail
He has somehow recreated the MATRIX from Gallifrey, which will show lots of alternate time lines, the past, the future. Hence the random flashbacks to the Doctor's childhood that we will surely get. Also, the Master's crazy electricity powers; I'm thinking those are MATRIX connected.
I have to write this AU fic one day... I saw it so clearly in my head...
The Doctor and the Master will spend a good portion of the finales tied up.
SCORE!
Somehow this will bring Gallifrey back?!?
More scoring! And they were a bit bastardly too weren't they? Which is what I've been saying about them for awhile now... kind of puts Nine in a new light though, the poor dear.
I'm still trying to figure out Rassilon though, because if Rusty was going to pull that, and the bastardness, there was soooo much he could've done with that. It makes me sad that he didn't.
I wish he could have had a beta reader to point this out (and about half a dozen other things...)
The Doctor will redeem himself. The Master will be linked to his death but will not be the ultimate cause of it (I'm thinking he regenerates and escapes)
While these were vague and highly likely predictions, they still be counted as a score. Does anyone else find it ironic that the Master saved the Doctor's life, only for the Doctor to die because of him a few minutes later? That was an epic scene though. That whole sequence with the gun. I kept forgetting to breathe...
I don't think we'll see Ten's actual regeneration.
I fail, but I am SO happy about this fail. Wheee! Random Matty boy!
I think there is going to be some kind of giant rewind switch: either Nine & Ten's adventures will have never happened or they'll be ploinked into an alternate timeline, or something. (okay, I know this won't actually happen, because of other spoilers which I won't mention, but it sounds like something Rusty would do doesn't it?)
Thank you for refraining Rusty
I think that Wilf and/or Donna may die. At the least, Ten will die to save them (or their deaths will galvanize him?)
Er... is this a half point?
The End of Tim part one will end with the Earth being saved but the Doctor being doomed. Part two will be him trying to save himself. and failing. Because we already know he's going to fail. Don't we?
Fail and... another half point? Except, he was pretty much jumping knowingly into the jaws of death at the end there. Or rather, a glass ceiling.. I'm going to be making awful glass ceiling jokes in a moment, so I will stop.
I'd like to see Ten lose his memories so Donna can regain hers. That would be tragic, but epic.
I still wish this had happened. Instead of Rusty's obsession with making sure that all of the female companions are married/ and rich. As if that's all they want out of life. At least Martha get to run around shooting random Sontarans (lol, was NOT expecting a potato head in the finale) but marrying her to Mickey? WTF??!? SHE HAD A FIANCE!
Ten WILL at some point kiss the Master (or vice versa)
Why did this not happen? Please tell me it was a missing scene...
Okay, actually, I'm kind of okay with this having not happened, because it brought their relationship back to the level of deranged friendship. The Master being all
YOU WILL NOT KILL HIM! I WILL DIE RATHER THAN LET YOU KILL HIM!!
ONLY I AM ALLOWED TO KILL HIM!
Was just like... whooooaa. Intense.
them both being such pawns in the end, to the Time Lords, to the universe, to their own separate morals, and how they managed despite that...
Could have done without Ten telling the Master how he could be beautiful though. Even the Master looks confused right there. Just, why are we discussing this?!? I really felt bad for Wilf just then, because he was a captive audience to some raging UST issues that I'm sure he didn't want to see.
(picked up on them pretty well with the whole "don't you DARE put him before us" sequence though. And then the Doctor was just... who else wanted to smack him upside the head just then? *does a count of raised hands* That's what I thought...)
Wilf is a fobbed Time Lord (okay, I know this isn't going to happen. I *know* the WTF Time Lord anagram is total coincidence, but if it DOES happen, well, I've been saying it for two years now kay?)
Ditto if Donna turns out to be Romana.
Didn't happen, but I'm okay with that. (Nothing said that they *weren't* fobbed Time Lords, so I'm going to stick with it.)
If Rusty pulls an 'and it was all a dream' trick, I will kick something.
Than you Uncle Rusty! :D :D :D
Ten is going to die in front of Rose and traumatize her.
Just about, yeah...
I will laugh at something that's not supposed to be funny. ...so will everyone else.
So many things... I think that the worst was the Ood lullaby. That just set me off for some reason.
Oh, and "I farted and the TARDIS blew up" popped into my head mid-way through the regeneration.
The Daleks will show up.
Do Donna's memories count?

I smiled all the way through & some good points, too.
Plus, one of my now favourite typos ever: "The End of Tim". There it is, instantly turned around, deflated and I'm wondering: "Who's Tim? Isn't that a bit unfair? It's like the way they always fire at poor old Will." (Sorry, anyone who's seen Carry On Up The Khyber can't help making that joke in all UNIT stories).
But, actually, it did bring the Doctor-Master relationship back to something I really recognised at the end there, and I liked that. And I find I am unable to say what actually happened to the Master? Where did he go? Did I blink?

You don't love it more than the Great Cake Typo surely?

Now that, right there, is as good a summation of Rusty's nonsense as I've ever seen! (Also glad to see I wasn't the only one wondering WTF happened to him...)

Second: this may just be the "young Southerner is not Southern" in me talking, but Martha/Mickey strikes me as race!fail. By which I mean, what do they have in common besides being black? Martha/Tom was the only interracial couple I've ever seen on TV (not that I watch a lot); why mess that up?
Third: Squee! Wilf is not dead!

2. No, I thought that too. And so did many, many others. I think Rusty grabbed this pairing straight out of the fanfic. But even in AU fics that was a dodgy, dodgy pairing. Donna ends up in another interracial relationship though, and it seems to be very stable and happy. I kind of love her husband (can't think of his name). He seems like an absolute sweetie. (this does not allow me to forgive Rusty for thinking that making Donna married and rich makes up for mind!raping her memories. NOnonononononooo. that's NOT how that works at all)
3. THIS WAS MY BIGGEST FEAR AND I AM SO GRATEFUL TO RUSTY FOREVER FOR NOT DESTROYING ME THAT WAY. Wilf = Awesomeness. Honestly, I was watching the episodes for him rather than the Doctor after a point.

LOL, I quite accidentally called it. The Moff did that ON PURPOSE, y/y?

I had one of these moments a few weeks ago when I was going through my archives and came across some ten question thing. It was basically, what kind of date would each Doctor take you on... I pegged Eleven as an art galleries and museums kind of guy. LOL MOFF ARE YOU READING MY JOURNAL WUT?!?

I did like the fact that the brought back the old Master has evil plot/Master is a moron and evil plot backfires on him/Master and Doctor kind of team up to resolve it-type plot. Too bad all of the plottiness was swept under the carpet so we could have half an hour of RTD-w*nkery at the end there...
I too was giggling away when the Ood was saying "the whole universe will sing you to your sleep". Not the intention, I fear...
I was just so glad to see Unexpected Mickey that I failed fully to realise the unfortunate implications of Martha/Mickey. I guess it's cancelled out in some small way by Donna/whatshisname, but still...
Wilf was great, though. As was Eleven!
no subject
I wasn't think of that with the Master plot, but you're right of course. And that line about him still being dumb had me laughing out loud.
It's also good to know that I wasn't the one laughing uproariously at the Ood. "the whole universe will sing you to sleep" ???WTF??? He didn't fall asleep either! He went BOOM! For reasons unknown.
Wilf made that episode worth watching, and Matty Boy laughing in the face of bathos at the end restored faith that the series will, in fact, continue. (he'd better do a good job though, 'cause I don't want no cancellations after one season shenanigans!)

Amen!! The Master looks confused because Ten's just gone certifiably batshit insane. And we're discussing it because Rusty secretly has a crush on the Master as well as the Doctor and probably has wild fantasies about getting the two of them together...oh mother of GOD, where's the bleach????
The Daleks will show up.
Honestly, considering how glaringly obvious it's been that Rusty can't do a finale without Daleks, it's quite amazing that you got this one wrong!
no subject
And I'm a raging Doctor/Master slash fan now-a-days too, so the fact that I said DO NOT WANT, and WTF WHY IS THIS RELEVANT?!?! during that scene... O.o
The Daleks will show up.
I know! I'm just as amazed as you. Though... we did get the random, unexpected Daleks in Waters of Mars...

Ayup. I believe it's what we classify as "Rusty loses the plot. Again."
