I was just about to write a complaining type of post about how it's nearly 9 and my plans of getting groceries (potatoes, carrots, butter, and milk OH MY!) and thus also my plans of banana bread, have been mercilessly squashed by the weather. I mean, really weather? First floods, then disgusting heat, and now on my first day off after the long weekend madness you bless us with... severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings?

*insert appropriate face!palm here*

But then it seemed to be lightening up outside a bit and the warnings had been receded. So I stuck out my head, and:




It's probably impossible to see, because my camera is an old point-and-shoot unsuited to this kind of photography, but this isn't just a double rainbow stretching clear across an (almost) uninterrupted sky. The main rainbow had multiple supernumerary bows stacked underneath. Just gorgeous.

More-than-double rainbow plus adorable gopher! Fabulous! We had a double rainbow here last month, I guess it's all this intense rain. :p

The gopher thinks so too. They are some of the most egotistical animals I've ever encountered. The way they run up to cameras, you'd almost think they were being bribed or something...
