Still, in all the apocalyptic fandom explosions that are going on right now, I just wanted to say:

I really, really hope so. His performance was just eerily reminiscent of Tennant's in that Children In Need mini-sketch pre-'The Christmas Invasion' thing for me, and it's shaken my optimism somewhat.

The trailer has alleviated my concerns. Slightly.

I took that as a planned choice to ease the transition. The waggling fingers kind of made me fall in love though. Apparently I've got a thing for waggling fingers. O.o

I'd be VERY curious to know if it was Rusty who penned that last scene, or if Moffat got input... or even if Matt was ad-libbing (in which case, the similarity would make a lot of sense, him not being such a fanboy... he's probably only got Tennant's regen to go on as inspiration)

Should be interesting, whatever happens. While there were things in that trailer which I actively trying to forget, there was also MUCH to b squeeful over.

According to an interview with Rusty awhile back, which I could probably hunt up if I had to, the Moff wrote everything after DT changed into Matt.

Haven't gotten to see the trailer yet, but if they don't pull it in the next day or two, that I am going to watch by hook or by crook. (I'm not too fond of DT, and have been quite looking forward to Matt. I hope he's good!)

Heh, yes! That was the bit that I got excited over. Not really having actually seen him in anything other than that DW Confidential last Christmas (although what I knew of him was promising), and having dsperately avoided any spoilers, I had no idea what to expect - but now I am so excited for S5. And just so relieved - the worst thing that could happen in DW is to take the new leading man in dislike. Well, it's not going to happen yet.
