Walmart has actually come through for once. Though I totally nicked the last copy in the store (actually, I think it was the only copy the store had, period, but whatever)

I'm hooked. Damnit! I just spent six episodes glued to the screen being absolutely entranced by how marvelously wonderfully amazing this show is. I already want series two. Why are there only eight episodes? Whhhy???

Everyone who recommends this show is right.

My mother was hooked to it as well, and it's so rare to find something we both love now a days. I think it helped that the one time she visited the UK was in 1973. So she just keeps pointing at things and nodding.

I've only got two problems with it:

One: I love Simm's character to bits, but every so often he step over the boundary into preachey-obnoxious land, and I just want to give him a smack.

Turkey IS supposed to make you sleepy right? Not wired? Must've been the Master!crack I just witnessed... oh... seven hours ago?!?? And I STILL can't stop laughing at that ending. I've decided that it must be brilliant, just for that reason and that reason alone.

There are no spoilers there. See. No spoilers.

There is some spoileriness under the cut. Anyways, I was thinking this all through the episode, and then forgot to put it in the reaction post:

Spoiler cut! )

Well... that was both completely unexpected, and utterly and completely expected.

I'm going to be making an attempt to stay away from the internet these next few days. Otherwise I will inevitably be spoiled, and though there have been spoilers a plenty floating about (and I've intentionally blundered into my fair share), there's a difference between being spoiled along with everyone else in the days leading up to and being spoiled by someone who didn't feel like putting the epic ending .gif they made under a cut. Yeah...

Anyways, before it does air I figured I'd post my deranged theories on what's going to happen tomorrow and next week. Then, after the fact, we can all laugh at how wrong I was.

Under a cut to spare you from potential spoilers )

First things first I want to wish a happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] garpu  tomorrow. Hope you have a good day.

Secondly, I've finally finished that epic Seven, Ace, and Hex story I've been talking about for ages. So, as soon as I manage to send it off to my beta I'll be able to start posting. Yay!

However, there's one other thing that's still lacking... and that's a title! Any good ideas? Anyone? Because my creativity cells are well and truly drained.

In advance to akashasheiress, since I won't be here on the day proper, but you deserve the greetings and well-wishings anyways!

I've copy-pasted this direct from the email LL sent. Hope that's okay LL. This mainly applies to the DbyA segment of my Flist, but even those of you who have no idea what I'm on about should read and take precautions. This thing is on multiple sites, not just proboards:

"I got some info from one of our IT guys at work on how this current crop of ads are working. As of today the anti-virus companies have definitions in place for the one that I was hit with, but you know how clever these evil geniuses are at coming up with new ones.

As you can figure out, they are buying ad space on websites, and then the code they provide to the people running the website has a virus embedded. You don't even need to click on the ad, just the fact that your cursor gets anywhere near it is enough to trigger the malware. It pops up what looks like a legitimate Windows message (I actually got multiple pop-ups) that says the computer is infected and to click there to enable the anti-virus software. Now I am no dummy, I recognized that the message didn't seem legitimate, so I clicked the X to close the window that had popped up rather than clicking Yes or No. However they have it set that clicking ANYWHERE will trigger the virus.

So here's Bernie's tip: If you see one of these messages pop up either on your work or home computer DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING. Press Alt+F4 and that will close the pop-up windows without triggering the software. Most websites detect these malicious ads pretty quickly and remove them, but they can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time. They had to re-image multiple PC's this week at my company due to this virus."

Yoinked from the better part of my Flist, is a meme (what else?):

Name three fics you think I will never, ever, ever write. In return(and if inspired), I will attempt to write a snippet of one of them.

These responses may be somewhat delayed by essays and the such, but I am curious to see what you'll throw at me.

EDIT: right, I probably won't get to these until the new year, but rest assured that I will get to them. And if anyone else wants to throw prompts this-a way; well, the more the merrier right? They can keep each other warm until I finish my school work.

I think it should be abundantly obvious by now that I'm procrastinating.

I've just participated in a friending meme. A wonderful, wonderful thing, which means that there will be new people reading my boring old journal. Greetings new friends! Greetings old friends! I'd invite you all for a party at the Medusa Cascade, but K-9 has taken the TARDIS hostage.

As a consolation prize you each get to ask random questions.

(why yes, I AM bored, however did you come to that conclusion?)

A bit of random fic from when I really REALLY ought to be working on other things. As with almost all my lj fic this carries the Not Complete, May Never Be Completed, and the Not Beta'd warnings. This is set directly after The Lazarus Experiment, which I haven't seen for a bit, so excuse any flubs in the carry-on scene.

I do not own Doctor Who. This is probably for the best.

Title: Resting Place
Word count: Approx 2000
Characters: Ten, Martha, the TARDIS because she's awesome

Here be uncompleted fic-bunnies. Read at peril. )

To [livejournal.com profile] librarylover82 ! (who's got to have the bestest birthday evah) and also to the Doctor (who isn't technically a real person, but whatever)

Many happy returns!
